I haven’t included many outfits in the recent newsletters so I thought i’d come back with a bang, with five different outfits included this week. I’ve done the usual and found what clothes they are wearing and given you guys some links to make it easy for you :) Also, there’s something new as you may have seen from the title. I usually focus on the good on this newsletter, but sometimes you’ve got to ‘highlight the s**t to appreciate the good,’ I can’t remember if it was Aristotle or Plato that said that first. Other then that i’ve included some newer releases and a few great pieces from brands that don’t have websites- yes that exists in the 21st century. I hope you have a great read, just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!
Outfits by Avnish
I’ve been following Avinish for a while now and he’s always got some great stuff on. The outfit on the left: A nice hiking inspired outfit. The shirt brings a pop and i’m a fan of the slightly shorter shorts. Gotta get the legs out!
Quiet Life Hat £29- Small batch and reasonably priced brand since 1997!
Needles Re-Worked Shirt £245- I usually find Needles re-works a bit hit or miss but he styles this nicely and I like the one that he’s chosen.
Kurt Shorts £105- Subtle bit of embroidery by Wax London that goes a long way.
Keen Jasper Shoes £110-£150- Big fan of what Keen’s doing at the moment, and they seem to be getting more and more popular. Go get yourself some top quality hiking shoes, and under no circumstances use them for hiking.
The outfit on the right: I love blue and green combinations, its pretty hard to f**k them up.
Estudio Niksen Sol Beanie £30- Reasonably priced and good quality as usual with Estudio Niksen- Mr Reliable.
Arlo Garment Herringbone Jacket £255- A great simple workwear jacket and who knows maybe you’ll suddenly be good at DIY when you wear it.
Whitehill Mercantile Mull Trouser £105- Whitehill Mercantile featured again, they might be the most featured brand on the newsletter at this point, I can send them a plaque for that if they would like. Definitely some of my favourite trousers on the market at the moment.
Gramicci x Keen Jasper Shoe £150- These are pretty close to selling out and most of you have probably seen them by now but a great collaboration between two great brands.
Slow Fashion Connoisseur
The guys got style. These might be some of my favourite colour combinations I have seen in a while. I hope by the end of this newsletter that everyone takes a bit of inspiration from him.
Head down and both hands in pockets and why not. I’m a big fan of the beige with the khaki and then the lighter blue shirt and lighter green trousers. I’m sure he’s spent a lot of time getting the colour combinations nailed on- I will definitely be taking inspiration for my own outfits. If you’re familiar with Engineered Garments then you can probably tell already that their mark is all over the outfit, with the top half virtually all being from them. The trousers are the Needles HD Fatigue Pant in olive and the shoes are by Yuketen- they’re very nice but i’m warning you that you might not be using both of them as they’re going to cost an arm and a leg.
I won’t go through these next outfits in as much detail - but again the colour combinations are great. And there’s nothing better then massive pockets for the sake of having massive pockets, its the fashion equivalent of having a V8 engine on a 20mph road.
Forget not having matching socks- why bother matching your shoes! I have a feeling this might become a bit of trend, with brands releasing slightly different left and right shoes. In fact, if they don’t then I might get to work as there’s some real room for creativity. Why should both shoes be the same anyway! If you’re wondering, the ones he’s wearing are by Hoka.
Minsol Drinkware
Drinkware might sound a little bit pretentious, but I always like to include affordable items for the home and these look really nice and are reasonably priced between £11- £25. You’ve got to have your cupboards looking as good as your wardrobe, remember that! I think that might be another Plato quote.
Clarks Original Desert Nomad Mule
Why buy a whole shoe, when you can just buy half of one for the same price! Jokes aside, these are cool- though they only come in women’s sizes at the moment.
Pale Bags
Pale are a small independent German brand located in Berlin that focus on bags which is exactly the sort of brand I like to support. If you’re looking for a simple lightweight sling bag then these have got to be a great option. I have a similar sling bag by Gramicci that I use everyday.
Forest Pop Hiking Shoes
Came across these from Yase. A brand that I weirdly can’t find much about online as they don’t even have their own website! How do I even find these items? Sometimes my genius is almost frightening. They’re made out of cow-hide, a texture we see quite a bit of nowadays but they’ve found a pretty unique way to go about it. I also don’t think the cow-hide trend is close to ending any time soon.
Roa x Colin Meredith
Really nice collab, and selling out fast so get yourself some hiking shoes that you’ll never use for hiking.
Claxies
Claxies is focused on hand-made denim works and again they don’t even have a website! Thats the equivalent of buying clothing off an old man on the side of the road nowadays. If you’d like to purchase give them a message on instagram, there’s some great craftsmanship that goes into their pieces.
Norbit
I never go too long without mentioning something by Norbit and for good reason. The vest jacket is a great layering piece for spring and summer. The inclusion of the shoe lace on the shorts is nice, and there’s some big pockets that you’ll never use but look great. Get some Norbit in your life!
Worst Shoe Of The Week
I mean look at it, what a terrible shoe. I was trying to convince myself it could be wearable in some sort of way, perhaps with some flashy shorts but then I saw ‘Arctic Monkeys’ written on the sole and realised it doesn’t have a place anywhere. It’s an irredeemably bad shoe. Though i’m open to hearing different opinions in the comments.
